During the past month of Ramadan, the "Ajaweed Hands 2" initiative at Al Majardah Applied College achieved remarkable success in supporting handicrafts and promoting discipline. This initiative is an extension of the "Ajaweed Hands 1" initiative launched last year.

This unique initiative falls within the framework of the "Ajaweed 3" initiative launched by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal, Governor of Asir Region and Chairman of the Asir Development Authority. The initiative is entering its third year with close monitoring from His Highness and the Ajaweed operations rooms to ensure the achievement of its lofty goals.

"Ajaweed Hands 2" sought to achieve a comprehensive vision that goes beyond the transfer of handicrafts from grandparents to grandchildren, through parents, but also extends to instilling values of professional, intellectual, and psychological discipline among participants. The initiative included organizing a variety of training camps targeting various age groups and interests, with a total of 35 training programs implemented. These camps included programs to develop technical and academic skills, such as Excel Camp, Start a Writer, Writing, English for Technology, Coding, Artificial Intelligence, Brainstorming, Mathematics for Children, Self-Programming, Translation, English for Tourism and Shopping, and Quantitative Aptitude. In addition, there were arts and crafts camps covering drawing, embroidery, crochet, pottery, Asiri weaving, and wickerwork.

The initiative's success was evident in the numbers achieved. Fifty-nine participants participated in the programs, supported by 38 volunteers, and a total of 4,209 beneficiaries benefited from them. This included 3,549 beneficiaries from academic programs and 660 beneficiaries from craft programs. In the field of handicrafts, 880 handicraft products were produced through 15 craft production centers, and 57 awards were presented to participants. The total number of volunteer hours contributed by volunteers reached 1,083, and 22 community partnerships were established to support the initiative.

Dr. Maha Mohammed Al-Shehri, CEO of the College of Applied Sciences in Al-Majardah, emphasized the pivotal role played by "Ajwadiah Hands 2" in serving the local community, noting that the success of the initiative reflects the college's commitment to supporting sustainable development efforts and effectively contributing to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by empowering individuals and developing their skills in various fields.
