Activating the International Day of Quality in the College of Arts and Sciences in Majardah with distinguished quality activities
Under the auspices of Her Excellency the Dean of the College of Sciences and Arts in Majardah, Dr. Maha Muhammad Al-Shehri, and in an effort to spread the culture of quality, due to its importance in supporting the university's vision aimed at programmatic and institutional accreditation. The College’s Academic Development and Quality Unit held activities to celebrate the International Day of Quality from November 1-9 and from November 20-22, 2022, attended by the college’s quality officials, relevant college departments, college employees, and the participation of female students.
Through this program, the Academic Development and Quality Unit focused on introducing the unit and its objectives to all employees of the college. The ceremony began with the royal salutation, and began with verses from the Noble Book of God. The general supervisor of the unit (Her Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Maha Muhammad Al-Shehri) delivered her speech aimed at enhancing the importance of quality and strengthening work within the university frameworks for development and quality to achieve the best outputs, then the speech of His Excellency the President University Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Salami, and a symposium on the history of quality and its impact on correcting paths, and a presentation to introduce the unit and its achievements for the year 1443 AH, in addition to the students presenting models for presenting initiatives in terms of (initiative description, initiative objective, implementation time, implementation mechanism, tasks of the initiative executive committee , the outputs of the initiative), honoring the distinguished in: Distinguished Initiative, Itqan Initiative Competition, Excellence in E-Learning Initiative in its second edition, and honoring the members of the Development and Quality Unit.
The celebration of the International Day of Quality included a number of qualitative activities that focused on quality and improving the college’s outputs. Initiatives, workshops and meetings were held, and questionnaires focused on improving work were distributed. The number of initiatives of faculty members and administrators reached (2), the number of female students’ initiatives (4), and one initiative for female graduates. In addition, (11) training courses were provided, (11) meetings were held, and (6) questionnaires were distributed. The number of participants among the faculty members was (29) members, (23) students, and (6) female graduates. About (100) participants and beneficiaries benefited from the workshops, and about (2450) beneficiaries of faculty members, students and community members benefited from the training courses. The number of beneficiaries from the meetings was about (82), and the number of participants in the questionnaires was about (85%) of the targeted.
In order to reach the student’s learning outcomes at the desired level, which allows him to serve the community and compete in the labor market locally, regionally and globally, the words of the Dean of the College focused on the importance of quality, as she said, “Achieving the concept of total quality in education simply requires that this include all pillars of the educational process, which It includes the student, who is the primary beneficiary, who must be the focus of the educational institution’s attention and care, as well as the formulation of curricula and the design of appropriate mechanisms for the delivery and implementation of the educational process. The members of the teaching staff also represent an essential pillar in the educational process and its seriousness, whose achievement requires special attention in the processes of selecting, training and qualifying members of the faculty. Teaching, motivating them, and listening to their suggestions.”
In his speech at the first meeting of the projects of the Department of Computer Science with the beneficiaries, His Excellency the University President emphasized quality, and His Excellency's speech in which he urged all members of the academic and administrative staff, as well as female students, was a motivation for everyone to achieve the higher goals of the college, which is that our outputs are of high quality. His Excellency also thanked the Dean of the College and all the participants and organizers.
At the end of the activities of the International Day of Quality, Her Excellency the Dean of the College and the Coordinator of Development and Quality at the College thanked the attendees and everyone who participated in the success of the activities of the International Day of Quality during the period for their efforts and dedication in order for the activities to be at this distinguished level, as the thanks are extended to everyone Contribute to spreading the culture of quality and consolidating its meaning by continuing the intonation process throughout the year and in all businesses by doing the right work
