Women and Children Initiative
The Women and Children Initiative is a strategic initiative of King Khalid University, aligned with the Asir Region Strategy. It was implemented by the Applied College in Al-Majardah as a community-focused initiative aimed at contributing to the creation of a sustainable society rooted in active participation. The initiative seeks to support the achievement of developmental goals for women and children and to enhance the role of women in sustainable human development. This is accomplished through specialized programs designed to address their needs, develop their knowledge and skills, and identify the challenges they face, all with the support of the surrounding community.
The initiative delivered 51 theoretical and practical programs covering awareness, training, and guidance. These programs benefited over 10,970 individuals and involved 142 implementers and 289 volunteers, totaling 1,603 volunteer hours and attracting an audience of more than 29,674 participants, all in partnership with various community entities. Furthermore, the initiative contributed to fostering a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility, in alignment with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
