The origin of the Department of Mathematics is back to the establishment of the College of Science and Arts in Majardah, where it is one of the educational institutions of modern origin, King Khalid University opened its doors to study and receive its students for the first semester of the academic year 1433-1434 AH. It includes three scientific departments (Mathematics Department, Computer Science Department, and English Language Department) .

The Department of Mathematics seeks to support the comprehensive applied concept of mathematics and to develop creativity and competition among students to graduate distinguished cadres capable of participating in the development of society and working in its institutions.
