Library initiative

The College of Arts and Sciences For Females in Majardah organizes an event on the importance of the library in enriching the scientific knowledge of the university student

       Under the auspices of the Dean of the College, Dr. Maha Al-Shehri, the College of Sciences and Arts in Majardah, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Unit, organized on Tuesday, 6/10/1444 AH, an event on the importance of the library in enriching the scientific knowledge of the university student, which achieved many educational and academic benefits associated with purposeful and constructive entertainment for all of the college  Students, faculty members, and college employees.  The event included a lecture entitled "The importance of the library in enriching the scientific knowledge of the university student" at ten o'clock in the morning in the college.
        This event comes in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in the field of education and scientific research, as the vision emphasized in its three axes - a vibrant society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious homeland - the importance of education and thought-building for the Saudi human element, especially in the university track - which requires focusing on finding mechanisms to activate  Scientific research participation in universities to achieve the vision.
       The lecture included a number of axes, most notably, defining the term library in general and the definition of a digital library, explaining and clarifying the types of libraries, and defining the importance of the library in both its traditional and digital forms.  The first part of the lecture was presented by the Supervisor of the Guidance and Counseling Unit, Dr. Entisar Al-Sir, where she explained the concept of traditional libraries, their types and importance.  Dr. Fatima Dafa Allah dealt with the concept of the digital library with explanation and clarification.
      After the end of the lecture, the discussion was opened with Dr. Fatima Dafa Allah and the unit supervisor, where there was an open dialogue in which the college students participated with faculty members and college employees. This type of lecture falls under the list of academic advising that aims to raise awareness of the important role that the library plays in  Enrich the knowledge of the student.
        In conclusion, Dr. Entisar Al-Sir, Supervisor of the Guidance and Counseling Unit, extended thanks and gratitude to Dr. Maha Al-Shehri, Dean of the College, for her continuous support to the unit in all important organizational aspects, which led to the success of the event.  The unit supervisor also thanked the vice dean of the college, Dr. Duaa Al-Rifai, Dr. Fatima Dafa Allah, and all the honorable attendees, who numbered (99) individuals.
        The lecture emphasized a number of vital points, the most prominent of which is the need for educational and research institutions for libraries stems from the urgent need for them by the beneficiaries, including individuals and study and research programs, who represent the main element whose knowledge needs libraries meet, and who are the most important party supporting the existence and development of academic libraries.  The greater the beneficiaries' need, the greater the need for libraries, and that libraries are an element of measuring the strength of programs offered by academic institutions.
